Biography

Marie-Christine Foucher Poignant and François Poignant have been painters since 1998.

Their work is based on a search for balance between shapes and colors. This is a four-handed construction game, which consists of combining patterns.

But the goal is the confrontation of the different components, the masses, the voids, the embossing... in order to create graphic works which are at the same time surprising, enigmatic and obvious.

These artists have chosen engraving as a medium, this demanding technique requires great know-how to obtain a convincing result. Again, the simplicity is only apparent...

Each engraving is signed and numbered (series limited to 30 copies).

Holder of the Higher National Diploma in Plastic Expression obtained in 1989, Marie-Christine Foucher Poignant taught plastic arts for 9 years to architecture students while practicing freelance graphic and textile design. François Poignant is self-taught freelance in graphic design.

These two artists have been working for more than 20 years with galleries, interior designers and luxury hotels.
