Damien Berrard

Damien Berrard is a self-taught French painter whose major influences lie between Jackson Pollock and Joan Mitchell. Flawless creativity and exceptional gifts allow him to express himself freely in disciplines as diverse as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, writing and even music. Born in 1974, it was only at the beginning of the 2000s that he decided to show his painted works to the public and it was only in 2020 that he devoted himself fully to the visual arts, on the advice of a painter friend and spectators who immediately seem won over by his powerful and profound creations. This resulted in numerous exhibition proposals and, based on the quality of his creations, he was invited to create his own Gallery in the medieval Château of Varennes-lès-Mâcon in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, the opening of which is scheduled for spring 2024.

His creations are like a large open book on his life and are intended to be largely autobiographical. Struck himself several times by intense personal tragedies, it is through his painted work that we can feel their full intensity. Also, Damien Berrard is probably one of the only artists in the world to have negotiated with a legal entity the right to photograph his face post-mortem. In any case, today, it is his art which is put up for sale, alongside his life, certain objects of which are also intended for collectors and informed amateurs who are increasingly fond of originality and more and more and more people, every day, following this authentic and committed artist.
