Biography
YAZ is my artist name, it is a summary of my patronymic identity and my origins. This Berber symbol is the emblem of freedom among the Kabyles.
I was born in Lyon and have lived in Marseille for many years.
Since childhood, I loved drawing, painting and plastic art in general already aroused my curiosity.
Completely self-taught, I have continued to nourish this passion by documenting myself on the different artistic techniques used by painters.
My inspiration comes from everything around me, from my travels, from moments in my life, from my loved ones but also from Jackson Pollock, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Zao Wou-Ki...
The abstract is what calls me and makes me vibrate and for a few years now, I have been letting go on my canvases the colors and themes that touch me at the moment I start a creation. It is most often, in the evening, that the desire to create is felt; music accompanies me and participates in the atmosphere of my creations. It is each time an opportunity for me to express what I feel, what I live, my deep emotions, life and my lives.
