Fleur Helluin

Fleur Helluin studied under Gilian Gelzer and Joel Hubaut in Caen (France), and Norbert Bisky in Salzburg (Austria). After a DNSEP in 2005, she participated in the Image Art and Technology program at the University of Paris 8 in 2006. Since 2004, her work has explored the impact of screen culture on the contemporary figure. His representative works incorporate the rich visual vocabulary associated with new technologies (light, posture, internet references) to classic oil paintings. By representing the contemporary figure, she brings to light the paradoxical mechanisms of the perception of oneself and of the world, in a critical engagement with the present. His practice is centered on painting, and also explores the fields of performance, installation or sound experiments. His works have been exhibited with, among others, Bill Viola, Norbert Bisky, Damien Cadio, or Cécile Wesolowski. Since 2006, she has lived between Berlin and Normandy. Fleur Helluin founded the dance-punk group Plateau Repas in 2005 with Marianne Jacquet and Valentin Plessy. Still active in 2017, Plateau Repas is regularly scheduled in European alternative clubs.
