Franck Pellegrino

Multidisciplinary artist, Franck Pellegrino plays with all media creating bridges between a heritage of graffiti, textiles and visions of life. His compositions transport the viewer through his adventures through primary forms with detailed details, thus structuring his works with a subtle, almost modernist geometry.

Originally from the South of France, the Alpes Maritimes marked a large part of Franck's life, before settling in 2012 in a Parisian life. It was during these years in the South that the artist developed the main lines of a formal language erecting sensitive bridges between typographies, abstract forms and ornaments.

It was during this period that Franck Pellegrino affirmed his art through the daily use of a refined black and white, to create contrasting images, where strength would be nestled between the full and the thin.

This series will gradually give way to the discovery of a polychromic language characterizing his current work, made of sober nuances, and tone on tone. The colors are declined in nuances on the fabrics as on the fabrics, support of predilection of the artist. Thus his paper works are constructed from abstract forms with woven patterns making the link with his textile works, like hand-sewn patchwork of pieces of life. The materials mingle, weaving together memories, continents, human beings.

Franck Pellegrino takes us on a journey between heaven and earth thanks to a real curiosity about the world around him. It is through a deep desire to tell us about this world that the artist highlights each culture he discovers during his travels.

On the canvas, the fabric, the leaf, Franck Pellegrino projects abstract and dynamic forms. We find familiar symbols, letters, words, boat sails, distant landscapes, textile patterns that connect us to these living moments of our personal journey, almost initiatory, to which the artist invites us.
