Mahé Boissel was born in Perpignan. She lives and works in Paris and Marseilles.
Her youth was marked by health problems and family conflicts and these troubled times have marked her visual universe.
Mahé Boissel permanently questions the human condition, from a woman?s perspective: how do people live? What do they let us know us about themselves?
The artist places the human at the center of her work, or in dialogue with other human beings. Her compositions are sometimes hieratic, and sometimes they follow the diagonals or various plans projected on a single plan, as if they were trying to escape the Euclidean perspective and draw our attention to other points of view.
Her artworks are staged productions of the human misery.
