Pheuil is a self-taught French artist, born in 1971 in Ventiane, Laos. He started painting very early, but it is really during the last ten years that this "hobby" has become a great passion, while working as a computer scientist in Paris, London, New York. , in Montreal and Stockholm. Impressionism is his main source of inspiration, the best definition of which would be given, according to him, by Sue Rose in her book The Private Lives of the Impressionists: "He [Pissarro] taught Cézanne to watch the reverberations of light and air and watching these rhythms play with form and line, encouraging her to forget the “precise” drawing. The shapes did not need to be drawn, they could emerge, if one looked only at the landscape and painted what he saw - “the essential character of the thing” ”. If Pheuil began his artistic experiments using oil and acrylic, approaching sometimes abstract and sometimes figurative subjects including animals (in particular horses), his technique and his inspirations finally evolved into abstract painting and art. raw with a more spontaneous major line. From then on, he replaced oil painting with acrylic and collages. It uses raw materials (such as cardboard) and favors vivid and primitive colors in order to offer viewers an intense visual experience on many levels. The results of his artistic research show “a coherent combination between intuition and rigorous aesthetics”. In this new artistic journey, he finds “more emotions, lightness, joy and strength”. It is in this sense that he began to paint the series "watch out for wolves!"
