Presentation
Sandrine Métivier lives in Touraine, a garden in France populated by small animals that are at the heart of her work. She mainly uses acrylic to create paintings in small formats (30X30) which are in line with the size of her favorite subjects, insects.
His works suggest a harmony between a construction of the mind and a production of nature. This geometric bestiary offers an aesthetic of tiny creatures combined with that of a human elaboration of forms. She likes this parallel between the rigor of geometry and the infinite variety of insects. A foray into entomology allows me to approach the depth of colors that can be found in the shell of a beetle or in the wings of a dragonfly.
