Jade Fenu
France • 1976
Presentation
Jade Fenu was born in 1976. Francilien of Italian origin, he is a free self-taught artist who appreciates being able to confront all the forms of art that have served as his training.
His multiple influences come as much from the contemporary Californian scene as from traditional Japanese prints or German neo-expressionism. His painting, which has become abstract, goes beyond the temporal framework and is interested in nature, in all senses of the word, in transfigured wounds, in recomposed identities. He develops a gestural technique that retranscribes on the canvas the multiple stages of his creative process: making, undoing, redoing, scraping, erasing, sanding, covering, discovering...
These are so many traces that little by little form their own identity until they create an intrinsic balance in the painting that no longer belongs to it. Jade Fenu works by seeking, in an almost philosophical approach to the act of painting itself, without knowing when or even if the outcome will occur, leading the viewer into an unstable game of equilibrium echoing the personal and existential questionings of each individual.
Jade Fenu has been participating for several years in international group exhibitions in Europe and the United States.
