A true jack of all trades, Jean-Pierre Duvergé has always lived his passions with extreme density and depth. From an early age, he scoured the basins and lakes of southwestern France where he won many victories on small sailboats. In 1970, then a postal worker, he traveled the streets of Bordeaux, the Atlantic coast, jazz festivals and certain film sets in search of faces, details of our daily life that escape our gaze and landscapes.

After a career in journalism and advertising, he once again hunts "heads" by finding the talents sought by companies which recruit, then decides to finish his professional career in the hunt for the best labels for wine amateurs and professionals. . The generalization of smartphones has given it back its taste and desire for images. He roams the streets of the city of Cergy, where he has lived for nearly 40 years, to testify to the diversity of its inhabitants. The "Cergy's faces" series was born.

His photography is humanist, instinctive and attractive, produced in the instantaneity and simplicity of encounters. Since 2016, his work has been exhibited regularly at festivals or photographic meetings, in France and abroad, and often presented in large format and outdoors. In 2017, he was among the 3 nominees for the Berlin Zenith Photo Award; in 2018, he participated in Addis Foto Fest in Addis Ababa; in 2019 and 2020, at Eyes on Main Street in Wilson, North Carolina, United States; in 2019, at the Kuala Lumpur Foto Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; the same year, at the Tokyo International Foto Award, he received the bronze medal and the honorable mention. In 2021, he will be the guest of honor at the Salon Photographique International de Vernon (October) and in 2022, he will be hosted in residence at the “Eyes on Main Street" festival.
