Biography
Nathalie and Jean Christophe DESVIGNES, ceramists. 15 years ago, for the love of the arts and ceramics, we created an artistic ceramics workshop in the department of Finistère.
Nathalie: “Since the age of 16, modeling has been obvious to me, a mode of expression. Since 2005, I have decided to live off my passion and make it my job. My universe is poetic and playful and I seek, through my sculptures, to provoke a smile, an emotion. I love the earth, its smell, its texture, its plasticity and its complexity, at the origin of small challenges to overcome. I work the Raku, for its raw and living side, and the engobed earth, for all the infinite palette of colors that I can create. My work is focused on meditation and brings me great serenity! ".
Jean Christophe: “I specialized in the engraving (I love the graphics) of ceramic pieces and the modeling of animals. I like to stylize them to make them look fun, but sometimes I represent them in a hyperrealistic way. I take care of the ovens and cooking in the workshop. During Raku cooking, I take the pieces out of the oven at 1000 °. I am always attentive and amazed by the effects produced by the firing on the enamels and their iridescent hues! ".
