Bahman Borojeni is an Iranian painter born in 1942.
Bahman Borojeni is one of the artists through which the West discovered Iranian painting. He is a graduate of the University of Art of Tehran; when he was only 22, in 1964, he was the revelation of the Tehran Biennial, winning the first prize in the printmaking category.
In 1990, he was selected for a fellowship by the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, which allowed him to move to Paris and devote himself to painting. Today Bahman Borojeni lives and works in Montmartre, and holds exhibitions regularly in Paris.
Bahman Borojeni's style can be situated between tradition and modernity; he takes inspiration in daily life and manages to sublimate trivial images in his exquisite paintings.
