Biography
Born in 1971, Eichi Kei is a Japanese artist, he studied oil painting at the Musashino Art University. The artists currently lives and works in Saitama, Japan.
With a sensitive and poetic approach, the artist addresses the topic of human beings through the depiction of his spirit, of his soul. He questions himself about the mysteries of human beings, which according to him "Can only be reflected in a well-balanced creation." He uses a Japanese composition technique called "Ma" which allows him to depict the soul trapped between life and death. He paints as well flowers, that usually represent time in his pieces. They symbolize the celebration of life and an offering to the death.
However, rather than considering that his works represent human beings and flowers, the artist says he paints landscapes.
Painting allows him to question about the very reason that leads him to paint; about his doubts and existential questions. An introspective work particularly important for the artist.
