Eric de Nie

Until some years ago, painter Eric de Nie was teaching at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague and the Amsterdam School of the Arts. From 2004 to 2009 he was member of the Board of Advice of the Utrecht School of Fine Arts. He received several awards, including the Europe Prize for Painting from the city Oostende in Belgium in 1976. In 2009 was published his monography 'Eric de NieSequenza' text (D/E) Han Steenbruggen, published byTAB.  In 2010 his work will be represented by Galerie Priveekollektie at Miart Milan (It). 

He has had many national and international exhibitions of his work. Recently in the galleries: Priveekollektie Heusden a/d Maas, K09 Groningen, Maria Chailloux in Amsterdam, Seasons Galleries The Hague, Arti Capelli Den Bosch, and Inga Kondeyne Berlin(D), William Wauters Oosteeklo(B). One-man shows in 2009 at the Museum Belvédère Heerenveen and the 'StadtGalerie' of Osnabrück D. In 2007 he was part of the show 'Gestures of Paint' at the Groninger Museum.  Several museums, as the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art in Amsterdam, Museum Boymans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, the Frans Halsmuseum in Haarlem, the Gemeente Museum The Hague and Graphische Sammlung Albertina Vienna(Au) own his works. Together with the pianist Kees Wieringa he has given live-painting performances “Canto Ostinato" in the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam,"The Creation' in Theater Zeebelt in The Hague and “Morton Feldman Session" in Studio Grasland Haarlem.
