Biography

Henrique Cristo was born in a small town in Northern Portugal. During his childhood, he lived between Portugal, Brazil, and Switzerland. These early transitions helped him to develop the capacity for observation, as well as adaptation to different cultures. In later years, Henrique Cristo trained at a prestigious design university in Lisbon. His academic years were also heavily influenced by performance music, meaning rehearsals, studios, and stages, where he had the opportunity to meet countless talented people.

When he graduated in design, he worked for some internationally well-known agencies. More recently Henrique has lived in London, Barcelona, Hong Kong, and Australia, where he devoted much of his time to photography and exploring his individual artistic identity. The artist is currently back in England, where he plans to set base. In addition to professional assignments, he is continuously developing his photographic technique through travel, which so far has included more than thirty countries. These experiences remind him how important it is to carry his camera with curiosity and humility.
