Biography
Mongezi Ncaphayi is a South African artist, known for his abstract paintings and prints. It is through these pieces that the artist explores questions relating to politics, power and social inequalities.
The artist has won numerous awards and honors for his work, including the Africa First Art Prize and the well-reputed Absa L'Atelier Gerard Sekoto Award for emerging South African artists. His work is on display at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Thami Mnyele Foundation in Amsterdam, the Bibliothéque Nationale de France in Paris, the Ampersand Foundation in London, and the Luciano Benetton Foundation in Treviso, Italy.
