
Biography
Born in the United Kingdom in 1994, Joy Labinjo is a British-Nigerian visual artist currently studying at the University of Oxford. She is known primarily for her large colorful figure paintings with flattened perspectives, that seek inspiration from family portraits as well as her personal experience growing up as a Black woman in the UK.
Labinjo's work has been featured in solo exhibitions across Europe, including London, Athens and Europe. Her work was also recently acquired by the U.K.'s Government Art Collection, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Morocco, and the Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art in Nigeria.
