Robyn Ward works in mixed media on canvas, combining acrylic, ink, watercolor, oil and spray paint. The initial impression of childhood is subverted by their actions, ironically tilting drug culture, politics, socio-economic issues and contemporary sexual mores.

Ward juxtaposes the cozy world of early childhood with visuals of teenage rebellion and a distinctly grown-up sensibility, to be able to nervously question and send a dark but humorous message. Inspired by abstract expressionist Jackson Pollock, pop artists like Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, street artist Conor Harrington and the surrealist fantasy of Hieronymus Bosch, Ward's multifaceted paintings capture the dismal kaleidoscope of society. western.
