Biography
Maria Katzman was born and raised in Wilmette, IL.
She received her MFA from Yale University in 1988.
Maria established a studio practice in Woodstock, New York and became an artist in residence during the summers, at the Byrdcliffe Artist's Colony, from 2006-2011, where she made the Cabin Paintings.
Her work has been exhibited in NYC at the Bowery Gallery, Artists Space, NYU, the WFG Gallery (Woodstock, NY), the Fletcher Gallery (Woodstock, NY), Catskill Mountain Foundation (Hunter, NY), the Greene County Council on the Arts (Catskill, NY), Adelphi University (Long Island, NY) Windham Fine Arts Gallery (Windham, NY), Wendy Cooper Gallery (Madison, WI), and the Ferrin Gallery (Lenox, MA).
