Macyn Bolt is an American painter, born in 1954. He studied at Syracuse University and obtained a diploma in Fine arts in 1981. Nowadays, he spends time between New York and Pennsylvania.
Macyn Bolt's painting is abstract and geometric. Inspired by architecture, the artist juxtaposes forms and colors to create visual harmony in his paintings. Almost monochromatic, his creations play around with forms and contrasts, bordering transparency and opacity, in order to create a relief like illusion and depth. The canvas is like a theater stage, where various forms evolve, dependent on one another.
In order to achieve visually attractive works, Macyn Bolt lays down several layers of acrylic paint on mediums like canvases, wooden panels or even sheets of paper.
