Artwork location: France

This artistic composition artfully merges abstract and realistic elements, inviting the observer to explore a universe charged with emotions and narrative possibilities. The artist skillfully uses a particular technique to produce vivid hues and shimmering reflections, creating exceptional luminosity that seems to capture light in an enchanting way. This artistic approach contributes to the impression of movement and vitality which permeates the whole.

The group of characters, while lacking distinct facial features, communicate a full range of emotions and personalities through their postures, gestures, and interactions. The absence of faces encourages the viewer to project their own narratives and dialogues onto these figures, thus promoting empathy and co-creation.

The general atmosphere of the painting suggests lightness and relaxation, evoking a carefree evening tinged with joviality. The woman in white and the man in blue stand out, forming a central duo open to various interpretations, arousing the viewer's curiosity.

The work does not impose a single meaning, but serves as a backdrop for reflection and speculation. It solicits creativity by letting the imagination define the identity of these characters, the nature of their gathering and the stories that emerge from their interactions.

Despite its semi-abstract nature, the work maintains a delicate balance between abstraction and representation, providing clear visual cues to ground the viewer in the scene.

In short, this composition celebrates spontaneity, the diversity of human experiences and the beauty of our ability to weave stories from fragments of information. The artist provides a framework, but it is up to the viewer to bring the work to life by letting their imagination run wild.

In conclusion, this semi-abstract painting is an invitation to exploration, contemplation and creation. It embodies joy, conviviality and freedom of interpretation, while captivating the viewer with its expert use of specific artistic techniques. He encourages everyone to become an artist, to paint their own story based on the subtle indications offered by the artist.

Alexandre Moore Rockefeller

Alexandre Moore Rockefeller

France  • 1988

Alexandre Moore Rockefeller was born in Paris in 1988 into a family of industrialists. He discovered painting by enrolling in art classes. There he forged his technique and developed a passion for the history of art.

He will choose to study the nude in particular. The flesh being for him the last place of personal power. His work is inspired by artists who have sublimated the ideal beauty of the body: Titian (notably with "The Venus of Urbino"), Vélasquez, Goya, Monet, Matisse, Modigliani, Tom Wesselmann.

He will seek, all his life, to leave his mark on the present by relying on a precise knowledge of the past; his aesthetics, his approach. The form must be as refined as possible on a monochrome background. Only the reflection of the light by the metallic color materializes the space and the silhouette. The human body is transformed by the use of paint and iridescent colors, drawing inspiration from collage and sculpture.

Drawing and color cannot be dissociated. Each line, each curve, each flat color contributes to the creation of a form. The latter is sublimated by the interaction and association of colors.

Its palette, made up of metallic colors, evolves in different ways generating strength and energy, thus creating its signature.

“My goal is not to represent an ideal and stereotyped body because I recognize the diversity of bodies. I am only interested in the manifestations of life and their forms, which I transcend through elements of the body, through a sculpted silhouette and abstract nudity.

They are odes to femininity, to the autonomous, authentic and free woman. I work instinctively, on feeling, on vibration, like a head-to-head fusion with the living.

Each line corresponds to an idea. The body, its plasticity, its sensuality, seems to occupy the entire canvas. The proportions depend on the size of the canvas. Construction happens naturally.

I shape the human body with knife strokes, with bursts of color simulating the metamorphosis into bursts of life. From this energy is born a sensation in the moment. The graphics, the intensity of each touch and the materials harmonize and articulate in a unique abstract figure. Thus I hope to achieve an aesthetic transposition of my reality. » AM Rockefeller (February 2014)
