Biographie
Ricky Cohete est né dans une ville côtière de l'Équateur, mais principalement, a grandi à Miami. La lumière de la Floride l'a amené à explorer la photographie. Les lumières et les ombres dures étaient faciles à rencontrer par ce temps chaud. L'effet net et raffiné de ce type de conditions d'éclairage est devenu une nécessité pour éviter les réglages en studio. Autodidacte, en photographiant les danseurs de ballet de la ville de Miami, il a commencé à consacrer plus de temps à la forme masculine.
Travailler avec eux en dehors de leur espace sécurisé (studio de répétition) et les emmener dehors, sur le sable ou l'eau, créant une dynamique qui a donné naissance à de nouvelles compositions. Inspiré par la mythologie de la culture du tarot et de l'astrologie, il a incorporé certains de ces éléments tout au long de son œuvre.
Dernièrement, il a auto-publié un livre de photographie qui comprenait: de courts poèmes et des croquis intitulés «Blanco».
