Virginie Banas

Virginie Banas divides her time between her job as a painter and the teaching she imparts with passion at her art school, the Ateliers Des Passerelles, which she founded in 2007.

Her painting is the accumulation of memories, feelings, landscapes, subconscious thoughts... which are transformed and translated into form, colors and texture...

Her work is inspired by her daily life and by her personal vision of what surrounds her, with the balance of warm and cold tones. "I like to play with the contrasts of the material and the blends... To give the impression that a "thing" has a life, a story to tell through its patina and its imperfections...

My series and pictorial periods are the fruit of my technical explorations by working with inks, pigments, oil paint, acrylic, watercolor, pastels...

The mixed technique is for me full of audacity and freedom... The work with a knife where collages sometimes mix with my creations.

My painting is tactile as much in my way of painting as in the play of materials with the serifs.

The abstract nature of this work tries to invoke images and emotions by leading the viewer to his own representation.

All my experiences have not taught me to paint, they have done more, they have opened doors for me...

Each painting emanates from a moment, a dreamlike instant, a spiritual stage located between abstraction and figuration.
