Photographies glamour
Le glamour fait appel à nos désirs les plus secrets. Bien qu'il soit souvent injustement limité à la seule représentation de la mode ou de l'art, des femmes ou des célébrités, pour l'écrivain Virginia Postrel glamour ne se limite pas à cela : il a un pouvoir de persuasion non verbale. Dans une conférence sur le glamour en 2014, Postrel affirme que « le glamour est quelque chose qui crée un sentiment de projection et de désir. La nostalgie vient de la canalisation de nos désirs ». Domaine souvent mal interprété, l'histoire de la photographie glamour se situe quelque part entre les photoshoots de mode et la pornographie. Elle trouve son origine aux débuts des années 1900 en France. Alors qu'Hollywood était à son apogée, les États-Unis deviennent le siège de l'art et de la photographie avec Ruth Harriet Louise, devenue l'une des photographes les plus prolifiques des années 1920. Au fil des décennies, les définitions de la photographie glamour ont évolué. En effet, elle ne se limite pas à un nombre restreint de sujets, comme le montre le travail d'Alain Daussin, mais aussi celui de Gun Roze qui, à travers ses nus en noir et blanc, met en lumière le séduisant sentiment de liberté du New York des années 80 comparé à celui d'aujourd'hui. Ainsi, ce style de photographie questionne nos désirs les plus intimes, nous entraîne à baisser notre propre garde et à succomber à l'attrait du glamour sous toutes ses formes.
