Emily Hudson Nampijinpa is an Australian artist of aboriginal origin born in 1965 in Yuendumu within an aboriginal community. She goes to the local school and then moves to Mt Allen with her family. She often visits her friends in Yuendumu. She later moved to Nyirripi where she and her husband now live. Emily has been painting with the Society of Aboriginal Artists of Warlukurlangu since 2001. Young, she used to watch her older sister paint. She paints the stories of Jukurrpa and the dreams associated with the traditional land of her ancestors, her characteristics and her animals, passed down for millennia.
