Ulillo

Ulises - Ulillo - Rivera Lopez was born in Mexico in 1984 and has lived in Costa Rica since a young age. He currently resides in San Jose, the country's capital, where his studio is located and from where he develops his creative projects.

With around thirty frescoes to his credit, spread throughout Costa Rica, and multiple commercial collaborations, he is one of the most influential and recognized Costa Rican urban artists of his generation.

ULILLO's visual research work and solid graphic identity have earned him national recognition for his work. In fact, his painting "VERDE TIERRA" will join the permanent collection of the Costa Rican Art Museum in 2021 as part of the program of new acquisitions for the period 2018-2021.

A true contemplative painter, ULILLO draws his inspiration from his close environment.

In his canvases, the artist thus reveals the subtle and changing hues of Costa Rica, a wild and luminous territory that inspires him on a daily basis.

His palette, a soft and relevant association of organic tones mimicking the natural environment of his works, is "non-contaminating" for the eye.

ULILLO's canvases, often enhanced with mineral textures or light threads crossing them like lianas, transport their spectators into luxuriant, volcanic and fertile universes. He is represented in France by the Bandy Bandy gallery.
