Marc Bertin

Marc Bertin, self-taught artist from Vendée, began his career in the 2000s. Sensitive to abstract painting, he practices different techniques using lines, strokes and colors that punctuate the space of his paintings.

His artistic career is punctuated by significant events that will feed and have decisive impacts in the way of approaching his creation.

6 years ago, he was no longer satisfied with the pictorial gesture alone and he experimented with different textures of fibers that he combined with glue, resin and acrylic to give his canvases a more vibratory dimension.

His experience as an artisan decorator allows him to deepen his plastic and pictorial research. He wishes to maintain an intuitive dimension beyond the contingencies and cultural dictates which can, according to him, be a brake on his creative process.

He plays on the accumulation of mediums that he incorporates into his canvases, making his art as particular as his working method, to directly feel the material and preserve the freedom of his gestures.

This prolific artist with a sensitivity and simplicity that commands respect has allowed him over the past 6 years to exhibit his works between London, Hong Kong, via Paris, Monaco, and St-Tropez.
