Presentation

Known as the maker of the "Coexist" posters and of Vivre Ensemble, Combo Culture Kidnapper is a committed street artist born in 1989. He graduated from the prestigious Villa Arson, Combo started his artistic journey making graffiti on the French Riviera. He then became artistic director for advertising agencies (Peugeot, McDo and Canal +). By the beginning of 2012, he decided to dedicate to his passions and his beliefs, street art and vivre ensemble.

To modify images, to parody popular myths to spread peacefull values, are all part of the artist's practice, which he does with enthusiam. He recycles comic strips, video games, paintings and photographs... Street art is his way of expression to make his humanistic values resonate and to convey a message of tolerance among the monotheistic religions. Encouraged by an infallible commitment, he denounces censorship in all its aspects. Combo infiltrated, for example, in the forbidden area of Chernobyl to post advertising posters denouncing nuclear energy in relation with the anniversary of the accident at the Fukushima Plant. From then on, international media highlights his work. He continued his political journeys in Hong Kong by posting Google pages banned by the communist party, including for the arrest of artist Ai Weiwei. With a provocative tone, he posted "Less Hamas, More Houmous" on the walls of Beirut. In the beginning of 2017, he parodied posters of the candidates to the French presidential election by posting electoral billboards "The objective is to make the lexical field behind the slogans of the candidates understandable, to decode them and to decipher them". Declared Combo for the newspaper Le Monde on April 11, 2017. His poster for "Coexist" is a new contemporary myth: a Muslim crescent (for the letter c), a star of David for the X and a Christian cross for the T.

The institute of the Arab world dedicated an exhibition called "Coexist" to Combo, in tribute of the great republican marches of January 2015.
