Presentation

Muriel Tisserant was born in Lille in 1964. However, she grew up in the Nice region. Immersed in painting from childhood thanks to her father, a passionate amateur painter, she was impregnated very early on with the scent of turpentine, the magic of colours, fascinated by the birth of multiple canvases as well as by the power of the creative process.

However, it was only at the age of 33, when she was the mother of four children, that she discovered her own path to painting when she met an art therapist.

Convinced of the importance of creativity from an early age, Muriel Tisserant has used the medium of painting and drawing extensively with children during her 22 years of teaching.

After two years of evening classes at the Geneva School of Fine Arts (2001-2002), she met Yuta Strega in 2004 and worked for many years with this internationally renowned artist.

Active in a cultural association that has led her to organise exhibitions, Muriel Tisserant also shares the adventure of painting with a sculptor - the two mediums will enrich each other over the years and through exhibitions.

After leading guided tours to the Camille Claudel exhibition at the Château de Lavardens from July to October 2008, Muriel Tisserant embarked on a university course in the History of Contemporary Art, which led her to a Master's degree in Research, a determining factor in her approach to painting.

In parallel to her studies at the university, she attended the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-arts de Toulouse for three years, while working as a guide and lecturer at the Fondation Bemberg in Toulouse and the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi.

Currently living in Paris, Muriel Tisserant is actively pursuing her pictorial work in her studio.
