Emilie Picard

Emilie Picard was born on 08/04/1984 in Toulouse. She graduated with honors from her National Diploma in Fine Arts (DNAP) in 2007 at the Beaux Arts in Marseille, then in 2009, again in Marseille but this time with the congratulations of the jury, her national diploma of plastic expression (DNSEP). Emilie Picard’s way is above all a technique that prints a style through the introduction of discontinuities both inside the same shape and in the space that contains it by the use of very pale, almost white tones.

The arrangement of sustained colors in a succession of autonomous touchs reinforces the fragmented aspect of the whole and plastically emphasizes the surrealistic area of the topic, in the « critical paranoia » variant dear to Salvador Dali. Reality and its representation are telescoping and generate a phantasmagorical world « beautiful as the chance meeting on a dissection table of a sewing machine and an umbrella ».
