Biography
Frédéric Blaimont studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris and at the l'École d’Art Graphique (Kunstgewerbeschule) of Basel, Switzerland, in the early 70s.
The first things that comes to mind when seeing Frédéric Blaimont's paintings is the banality of his subjects. Something strange happens though: the loneliness of the characters is there, it is visible. His paintings are a combination of generosity and meanness. He depicts characters that are sometimes unpleasant, gently and with great attention.
