Biography
Painter draftsman, sculptor, Philippe Messager was born in the Pays de Loire in 1954. From 1972 to 1977 he studied Fine Arts in Bordeaux and then went to the Cyclades, then to the overseas territories that he will explore until 1986.
Back in the metropolis, he published several comic albums with Lavielle editions. He practices humorous drawing and advertising illustration, gives painting and modeling lessons while developing a personal artistic practice, in the spirit of Free Figuration. In his workshop in Cambo-les-Bains, he develops a series of sculptures mixing terracotta and acrylic painting in which his technical mastery is perfectly expressed, but also his sense of humor. He has been exhibiting in galleries for about thirty years.
