After five years as an artist-engraver in Japan, Sayaka received a grant from the Pola Foundation in 2007 to spend a year in the Netherlands in order to continue his research on engraving, in particular on Dutch non-toxic methods. Having settled in Paris for a few years, Sayaka Abe follows her apprenticeship at Atelier Contrepoint and at the association for printmaking and popular art. Today, Sayaka Abe continues to create his engraved works for typography and printmaking. She exhibits her creations regularly in France and Japan. Sayaka Abe develops scenes with intense colors in a delicate and magical universe. The delicacy of the engraving mingles with warm and luminous tones.
