"I am a self-taught animal artist.

I like to paint the animal, because it recalls patience, and especially the truth because it does not lie: it expresses without hiding its truth on its relations with other beings, on its relations with its fellows and on itself . Apparently close to us, however, the animal is invariably inaccessible to us, because we cannot hear its communication other than from our own language. Faced with the collapse of biodiversity, it is up to the artist to find a way to raise awareness of animal life, to respect it, and to mobilize awareness in order to save and preserve the riches of this natural diversity.

The animal symbolizes in my paintings the individual, little known or even unknown. Faced with this stranger, a choice is then offered: to be satisfied with the most accessible but poorest message or to let this appearance crack to give way to a more subjective appearance, tinted by our personal nuances and internal filters. It is thus possible to free oneself from appearances, objective or subjective, to open up to others. With (or perhaps because of) over-information, the nuance and the deepening of the concepts are gradually abandoned: one gets used to "roughly", to "the essential" but contradictorily the essence of things is missed because we deprive ourselves more and more of this nuance. This tendency rubs off on social relationships, where immediate appearance takes precedence over personalities, placing each being in continually more restricted and shortened boxes.

My canvases also depict the erasure of the single individual in front of the mass: looking at my Multiples as a whole only lets see at first the spots, or stripes, as so many social codes as all the elements of a community. display for the sake of integration or even conformity, but a more curious and more patient approach will allow individuals, their respective peculiarities and above all the antagonism between the uniqueness of the individual and his anonymization in the group to emerge.
