Nouha Haj Amor

Nouha Haj Amor is a painter born in 1989 on the shores of the Mediterranean in Sousse in Tunisia.

Nouha chose painting as her main discipline, but previously she did sculpture with clay and leather engraving. In her works of painting she practices acrylic, watercolor, oil, ink, pastel, charcoal, collage, weaving and stencil techniques.

Passionate about painting since her childhood and inspired by the radiance of light and the expressive power of bright colors that her native country of Tunisia endows, she has appropriated her unique style in abstract gestural art.

In 2013 she obtained from the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Nabeul the license in Plastic Art (specialty: painting).

In 2018, she obtained a research master's degree in heritage science from the University of Tunis (specialty: traditional heritage).

During her artistic career, she made a point of varying encounters and artistic residencies. She exhibited her works with several painters in group exhibitions and she participated voluntarily in the animation of painting workshops for children and adults in order to share her artistic know-how with them and help them learn the painting.

In 2017, she attended a training course in the restoration of works of art (ancient oriental musical instruments) organized by the center for Arab and Mediterranean music in Tunis.

Between 2017 and 2018 she followed training in ancient oil painting and nature painting at the Royal International Summer Academy of Wallonia AKDT in Belgium.

Nouha had the opportunity in 2019 to follow a fundamental training in the restoration of works of art (oil painting) organized by the National Heritage Institute in the majestic Palace of Versailles.

She has been living and working in Paris since 2017.
