Born in 1971 in Marseille, Philippe Cas lives and works in Marseille.
He considers photography as a tool for collecting and anchoring memory, his images are created around the obsessive notions of forgetting, accumulation and remembrance. They are made patiently, like a collection, and are the fruit of a work, repeatedly taken up, then put on standby, constantly updated over time, always in evolution...
A graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière in Paris, his activity is now divided between professional training and project follow-up with visual artists.
