Grillo Giovanna

Born in Lyon in 1973, Giovanna GRILLO first discovered watercolor at the age of 17, then it was in Bordeaux during art classes that she was introduced to different techniques. Between the ages of 20 and 25, charcoal portraits will be the hallmark of her creativity. .... After a long absence from the plastic arts, during which Giovanna GRILLO will give free rein to her musical creation, it is in 2020 that she returns to the plastic arts. The artistic creation becomes then a time of quasi meditative breathing. Her relationship with color and matter is intuitive, instinctive, unstructured and corporal. It is in the scopic call of the colors, in the realization of the uncalculated gesture, in the rhythm of the stretching or spreading of the material that she grants herself a moment of letting go.

The abstract representation, of real or imaginary scenes, is often guided by the will to represent the fault, the upheaval, the balance or the internal imbalance which animates the human being... more or less visible fault, more or less sealed division, more or less regular path of life which follows its trace on the canvas.

It is thanks to Léa Rime, director of the Galerie Libre est l'Art in Paris, that she had her first exhibition.
