Renate Müller

Born in Sonneberg, Renate Müller grew up in a family of toymakers. Already his grandfather, inspired by progressive education, developed toys with educational value in the company Sonneberg HJ Lewen. His parents run a workshop of educational objects.

Müller spent his life in Sonneberg, Germany, which was once the epicenter of global toy manufacturing. From an early age, she helped in her family's toy factory and later became a student at Sonneberg Polytechnic for toy design, where she was encouraged by a teacher to create toy animals. which could be used for therapeutic purposes for physically and mentally handicapped children.

In 1967 his animal figures, a handmade series, were shown for the first time at the Leipzig Spring Fair.

After her studies, Renate Müller joined her parents' workshop, which was nationalized in 1972. Her creations continued to be produced and were found in large numbers in kindergartens and doctors' surgeries in the GDR. In 1990, the rights to the brand can be redeemed and his company “Renate Müller – Game & Design” is founded. High-quality toys made from environmentally acceptable materials continue to be handcrafted.

Keeping the series small, toys made since the late 1990s are sold at high prices. They are even said to be more authentic. The robust toy animals from the Müller manufactory are now sold worldwide. Older toys are in high demand by collectors, museums, and especially in the United States.
