

Born in 1968 in Nijmegen, Netherlands, Philip Provily lives in France.
After his studies in Amsterdam and New York he was working as an assistant of Rineke Dijkstra.
He started his career in the Netherlands with an exhibition at the Groninger Museum.
He went on to expose in Rome at Galleria Pino Casagrande and in 2000 he was invited by Institut Néerlandais in Paris for the exhibition L'Oeil du Nord. His work is in the art collection of Museum Voorlinden in the Netherlands, Maison Européenne de la Photographie and chosen for the catalogue Le regardeur Neuflize Vie collection in Paris and for the Anthology Photographers of The Netherlands by GEM Museum in the Hague. He exposed at Centre National de la Photographie (now Jeu de Paume) and La Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille. In Paris he is working for UNESCO, the Dutch Embassy. Also in Editorial for Le Monde, De Volkskrant, Psychologies magazine.
Philip Provily loves to work in portraits, staged photography with a sense of humor and poetic lightscapes.
