WIKTOR JEDRZEJAK (born in 1956)
Studied at WSP in Czestochowa. Participated in 120 group exhibitions and over 50 individual ones (including in Warsaw, Poznan, Kalisz, New York, Tokio, Berlin, Heerenveen). Winner of 20 national painting competitions.
Wiktor Jerzy Jedrzejczak`s favourite theme is abandoned, clay pots. He masterfully reveals the play of light and shadows on their bellies, here and there scratched, broken or mended with some rusted wire.
A lot of his pictures is framed not into typical frames, but into old window frames, stained with rain and dried by wind and sun, broken with their old age. J?drzejczak paints with calm toned colours: browns, beiges, rusty reds and rotten greens. Due to this dim palette every item depicted with even a little vivid colours - green texture of a tile, orange pumpkin, blue enamelled pan - blooms, becomes intense and charming in the contrast with the other elements of the canvas.
