Biography
Luis Alvarez Torezano is a Spanish artist born in 1957 in Pontedeume. Passionate about painting since a young age, Luis grew up with brushes in his hands. He obtained a degree in architecture from the School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB) of UPC, he dedicated his professional career to working in this field combining it with painting.
Portrait is his favorite pictorial genre. He treats it from a humoristic and emotional perspective, or from the prism of intimidation. Each model is carefully selected according to what it emits. The artist aspires to create a connection with the subject. Luis Alvarez Torezano creates face expressions with dexterity that impels to transmit the intrinsic soul of each person. Thus, his canvases are the result of a long process of reflection. The work on the color, applied with a studied method, for example, he tries to paint only on a white background using acrylics.
