Biography
Maria Maeso is a young Spanish artist, born in 1990. She lives and works in Nantes.
She graduated from the School of Fine Arts UMA in 2014, she got, as well, a degree in illustration from the School of Applied Arts of Madrid in 2009 and in photography in 2004.
Maria Maseo's paintings are often inspired by her photographic practice, they are made up of different layers of tape, where the bands play with the contrasts and brightness. Her work gives a real poetic meaning to everyday moments.
Her work concentrates mainly on the creation of visual art pieces using unconventional materials. The material rest on the reciprocity of wholes and voids, revealing a game between light and shadow.
Her works received the honorable prize UGR Alonso Cano.
