Presentation

Caroline Kannreuther studied Fine Art at Wimbledon School of Art, winning the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Prize for her graduation show in 2005. Since then her paintings have been sold throughout the UK and abroad through galleries and private commissions. Caroline Kannreuther lives and works in Thames Ditton, Surrey.

Her oil paintings of rare-breed cows are inspired by her childhood on a Herefordshire farm and a desire, perhaps, for a little bit of ‘rural’ in her relatively urban life. Her first painting of a Limousin was a gift to her parents and her second cow was bought by her future husband at an anonymous charity auction. A good omen! Twelve years on from that first Limousin painting, her fascination for cows and their many breeds has not diminished. “I am forever interrupting countryside drives to study my future subjects. I try to capture a sense of curiosity and warmth in my bovine friends.”
