Donna Talerico

As a child Donna Talerico heard inspiring stories of Paris from her grandmother who had emigrated from Luxembourg as a war bride during the First World War. As a result, in her 30's she began learning French and visiting France as often as possible. In 1998 Talerico experienced a life-changing event. She was enticed by a friend to attend a painting course in the south of France.

Donna's journey into abstract painting has come by way of a 20 year career as a Fashion Illustrator and another 25 years depicting cafes and French street scenes.  Gradually she pushed the boundaries between representation and abstraction, forging into lost edges and less articulation of subject matter. 

Recently she has evolved into the totally abstract, enjoying the freedom of unforeseen contrasts and rhythms. Her versatility allows her to transition easily from representational work to the less descriptive abstract, as her mood dictates.  She takes great pleasure in doing both.
