Cyp Cristiali

Carnot Israel Pose Mesías Ballejo, with the artistic name Cyp Cristiali and nurse by profession, was a self-taught Uruguayan painter who knew how to combine formal searches entering into dialogue with the late splendor of Spanish informalism, with the conquests of North American abstract expressionism and with the resonances of art brut coming from France, which together with a technique that he invented reveal the skills of a born colorist who with great freedom and spontaneity, follows the whims of his imagination.

The technique that he invented during his night shifts as a nurse consisted of putting oil in the injection syringe and with a thick needle he put dots to create relief compositions.
