Monique Rozanes was born in Bordeaux in 1936
After studying at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris, she began a long career as a visual artist (sculptor, painter and designer).
Indeed Monique Rozanes is the only sculptor of the XXth century to have made by dint of talent, persistence, enthusiasm and madness of the plastic material its first expression. like a true alchemist, she explored all the resources of this material. It makes its synthetic resins pass from liquid to solid. She mixes, sizes, juxtaposes shapes and colors, associates opaque with transparency, smooth and rough, emptiness and fullness, shadow and light. And the transparencies that she provokes through this search for astonishing material, make all the strength and aesthetics of her work.
Monique Rozanes has exhibited a lot, in galleries and museums, in Argentina where she lived, but also in France.
Next exhibitions planned for June 2021
The Argentinian house (opening June 1), Paris and the Gastou gallery, 12 rue Bonaparte (opening June 3)
