Presentation
Born in Milan, 2501 works with a wide variety of materials, including painting, installation, sculpture, photography and film. Engaged in a search for empty spaces, 2501 experiments free compositions through lines, shapes and movements. At the age of 20 he moved to Sao Paulo to teach painting to children, after studying Cinema and video editing in Milan and Visual Communication at the New Bahaus University in Weimar, Germany.
His multidisciplinary approach has led him to take a documentary approach that has evolved towards the "Nomadic Experiment" project, a series of international exhibitions and a ten-year digital archive focusing on countercultures, communities, points of view and experiments throughout the world. The project develops a constant dialogue with urban topography, mainly in the form of murals, including the interventions in Los Angeles, Miami, Sao Paulo, Milan, Rome, Detroit, Chicago, Ulan Bator, New York, Atlanta, Kiev.
Always on the move thanks to a career that leads him to respond to calls from various art institutions and fairs all over the world, he has participated in numerous public art festivals such as O.BRA, Living Walls, ALTrove, Art United Us, Artmossphere Biennale , Walk & Talk, Wabash Arts Corridor, Outdoor, Mural, Traffic Design, Painted the Desert Project.
Using an approach that can be both primitive and sophisticated, the repetition of linear exploratory and evaluative work is highlighted by the sensitivity of 2501 to the relationship of surface details. Equally important are the dynamics of empty spaces and abandoned structures or buildings, where the symbiotic relationship between positive and negative space is always at stake.
