Herman Van Peer was born in 1951 in Poederlee, Belgium.
Student in an art school (SISA) he learned illustration, typography, screen printing and photography, at the same time following evening classes to perfect model drawing.
1974, his first job as a colorist for wallpaper, within the Balamundi group.
1978, he creates "the Small studio" with 2 collaborators, their job is to develop wall collections for the high end of wallpaper companies. He collaborates with big brands like Arte, Omexco or Schumacher NY.
In 1990 he became a freelance designer, he worked simultaneously with Balta, a large international high-end carpet group and Omexco, an international group also specialized in wallpaper.
In 2001, he created his own "Herman Van Peer" collection, built his own workshop and production plant.
He settled 7 years later in the south of France and joined the textile design workshop "Antoinette et Freddy"
He tells his story, his life through the paintings and drawings he creates, guided as always, by music, Jazz, rock, classical ...
