Presentation
Painter and plastic artist, c.leg has been working chiaroscuro for several years now in search of what remains in us the most unfit for light, which, hidden in our bellies and our viscera, expresses, beyond lures and abandonments, the entropy that accompanies the eternal antagonism of Eros and Thanatos.
This fierce struggle which the expressionists in their own ways translate so well through distortion and shapelessness, is a difficult object to approach for a painter of realistic invoice as the opposition remains strong between realism and expressionism.
As if this interiority could only reveal itself in a masked way, relegating to relative confidentiality a whole pictorial current unfit for our contemporaneity.
It is therefore quite naturally, after a long work of informal, magmatic painting (as A. Erhenzweig may have called it), which was exhibited in France and abroad, that c.leg, in a figurative approach, continues his work. work around this question of form and content. A question which, although always at the heart of the artistic problematic, is today exacerbated by our clinical and aesthetic societies, obsessed by the apparent need for presentation, packaging, the visible at the expense of the sensitive.
