Coco Loco (Dianna Bonder) ist eine queere, multidisziplinäre Künstlerin und preisgekrönte Autorin/Illustratorin von 14 Kinderbüchern. Sie arbeitet ganztägig in ihrer Ateliergalerie auf Gabriola Island, BC, wo sie Kunstharzskulpturen, Ölgemälde und Federzeichnungen anfertigt.
Cocos aktuelles Projekt Cirko Bizzaro wird von einer wilden Besetzung aus Freaks, Clowns, Tieren, Puppen und Hybriden aufgeführt und setzt die lange Tradition der Zirkus-Freakshow fort. Sie ist besonders fasziniert von der Ästhetik des „Niedlichen“ – dem Moment, in dem etwas Niedliches plötzlich unheimlich und seltsam wird. Während ihre Arbeit von Künstlern wie Gorey, Sendak, Ryden und Witkin beeinflusst ist, sind ihre Hauptinspirationen ihre Fantasie und ihr Alltag.
